payPod Update - New Developments

paypod

This is a follow-up to this announcement where I mentioned plans to develop payPod further, and requested feedback on what people would like to see.

Based on the many feedback emails received, development of several new features is underway. Some free improvements have already been rolled out, such as the email history and email bounce notifications when sending quotes and invoices.

Some of the new features will incur a monthly charge, though, anyone who has paid for payPod Lifetime Unbranded will still retain their current benefit of not having the branding on their free quotes and invoices. Please see the below comparing the differences between future account types and planned features.

Free - Unlimited invoices

  • Unlimited Quotes

  • Unlimited Documents

Lifetime Unbranded - R350 once-off - Unlimited invoices

  • Unlimited Quotes

  • Unlimited Documents

  • No payPod logo on PDFs

Premium - monthly/yearly fee TBD - Unlimited invoices

  • Unlimited Quotes

  • Unlimited Documents

  • Mark Invoices as Paid (new)

  • Track Client Payments (new)

  • Unlimited Credit Notes (new)

  • Generate Client Statements (new)

  • No payPod logo on PDFs

Development for the above is well underway, and a final release date should be announced during the upcoming month.

I do understand that there may be concerns regarding the new pricing structure, however, please rest assured that the current features you enjoy will remain free. In order to cover the costs of new and ongoing developments, as well as cover the monthly costs of running payPod, a more sustainable approach needs to be taken. The more people there are that use payPod, the further the once-off fees need to stretch to keep payPod running. While we are currently far from being in trouble - payPod's costs are covered - it is always best to plan for the future.

If you have any questions, feedback or concerns, please do reach out and send an email to jethro@paypod.co.za. Your feedback would be much appreciated - positive or negative.

Kind regards,
Jethro
